Nov 21st Day 79 on the road. Slept awesome the night before in on the tractor path I think cause I didnt sleep worth
shit the night before at the border. So I get all my camp packed up and start on my way to Paraguay. I get to Paraguay in a few hours again barely making it cause all the gas stations dont take my bank card and now I dont have any argentina currency. Anyways get gas and start on this road to Paraguay. Get to the border get my bike exported out of Argentina in seconds move on to paraguay where they have these containers with 2 windows you just pull up get stamped out of argentina and get stamped into paraguay. WELL I checked every country before I left to see if i needed a visa in advance which brazil I already knew I did argentina you need to do one electronically in advance and every country where I needed one could be done upon arrival. Yeah in Paraguay the visa upon arrival is only if you fly in if you drive in you have to go to a consulate. Here it is Sat they
say go to the consulate on so an so street back in town in argentina to get the visa. I already knew I couldnt get it its fucking sat and south america barely works as it is no government building in the US is open on sat. Yet fuck it have to go back that way if I need to turn around anyways. Go into town get to the consulate and what to you know barricaded and locked up. So now I am like what the fuck I have to go all the way out around paraguay to get to these water falls I want to see instead of visiting paraguay and going straight to the falls. Yeah that is the case so on my way out around. I ride 18hrs that day where I camp in a actual campground that I got to pay for the first time. Day 80 up early again cause I want to head up to Iguazu Falls then roll into Brazil after. So I make it to the falls in like a hour go to pay but they dont take card and yeah
I am still out of cash. She mentions there is a atm over there i head over to atm and what do you know its out of money. So I tell her and she is like the town is ten miles you have to go there. I am like god damn really so as I start to walk back to my bike in the parking lot I oversea a tour guy cashing out some usd into argentina pesos inside his car. I asked him if I could get some cash change he said sure no problem. So this guy gives a few hundred pesos I pay to get in. Now I am in my riding gear pants jacket and boots and it is fucking warm
out. I expected the falls to be right as you walk in like niagra falls. Yeah thats definitely not the case so I do some walking where they say a free tram takes you to the top. Hop on that bad boy and to the top I go. Get off the train do some walking all while staring at my phone text arguing when I should be enjoying these damn things. To where someone says to me you better start looking up or you could end up falling off this and wont be texting anyone any more forever. Valid point so I take in the sites of this insanely powerful thing called water where you can literally walk right to edge on this platform. It was pretty god damn impressive only thing that was semi shitty couldnt see the bottom do to all the mist and the water was shit brown which im guessing is from some rain fall they got recently. After I leave the falls I grab some food and head back down on the tram.. As I get off the tram it starts to rain so im thinking right away fuck that I am not
riding in rain to brazil I have riding avg of 14hr days for the past 4 day so dosent take much to just give ain and get a hotel. So finally get to my bike and head 10 miles into town to get to the hotel. Get the wet gear off and just relax and find something else I could possible see while I am in town. The weather has cleared so I find a point where the water seperates argentina brazil and paraguay. Each side has a light tower with it painted there countries colors. So figure eh that be kinda cool Ill go there just to do something. Head out to the corner of town where this point is to get some pictures. Grab few of those head back to the hotel shower up and ask where to eat. So head back into town 30 mins later practically grab some dinner back to the
hotel again and just call it a night. Day 81 get my ass out of the hotel early to be back on the road heading to the east coast for the first time this whole trip. I get to brazil border in 2hrs I exit argentina and enter brazil. It was a weird scenario I cross into the country and then I drive up 3 blocks to stop at the police station to get stamped into Brazil. Luckily a guy told me that cause otherwise I would of been driving through brazil without ever being stamped in. So I get stamped in and
ask about my motorcycle lady I think in spanish said that I can just go. So I go up the road a bit and see a information center stop in there ask them they have no idea what I am talking about when I ask to importacion so I go up further and see a insurance place I stop in there and ask them and they as well just said just go. So I figured fuck it if I get stopped Ill just play the stupid gringo card. So I cruise 10hrs east stop at some crazy statue museum or whatever it was on the side of the road took some pictures of some of the bad ass statues they made before finally arriving into Puerto Alegre. Get checked into my hostal for the next 2 nights eat some food and just crash out. Day 82 get my ass up early cause I had plans on going to the
beach but realized its shitty outside so I figure fuck it I guess I will just make it a laundry day. Find out where the closest place is which ironically is right across the street from the hostal. I drop it off she tells me to come back later. Well I still didnt have any money here in brazil. SO after my clothes are dropped off I got in search of a atm to get some money out. Finally find one about ten blocks away in a grocery store. Get some money head back to the hostal to relax before getting my laundry. Pick my clothes up around 5 take them up to the room and start to repack them all back up into my one bag and take some down into my bike. I stuck around this extra day cause a band I really like happens to be playing here in Puerto Alegrae and I try to see them twice before but had no luck cause it was sold out. The show is at 8 so on the way to the music venue I do
some walking around in a park and before heading to the venue in hopes this one is not sold out. Luckily it wasent so I finally got into the venue a hour later and once in we waited for the first band to go on a hour later. When the opening band went on they were from Brazil and actually really good. I was surprised cause the first opening bands tend not to be all that great. As I am expected another opening band to go La Dispute the band I came to see takes stage. So I guess that 2hr delay was because the other bands were not playing as this was the last show of the tour. Anyways La Dispute was fucking amazing was so happy to finally catch this band and even better to catch them here in Brazil. After the show I head back to the hostal thinking there would be people drinking back there. Well guess what no one was drinking so I had a beer and then went up to my room to call it a night after being disappointed with the party situation.
