Day 10-11-12

Comment are off

Day 10 Was pretty much identical to day 9.  I woke up early 9am yeah thats what early is to me so suck it. I get the bike packed (now when I say packed most of the nights its not me loading an unloadin the damn thing i just take off my backpack and tankbag)  so load that shit back on the bike and head out of the airport. I had intentions on going to a museum before I take off but traffic was nuts and instead of going into the city for more traffic I was already on the

outskirts so just headed out of the city.  Day was super easy it was all freeway with tolls which I might add is a bitch every 30 mins im shelling out like 2 dollars its expensive I feel and probable limits a lot of mexicans who would want to travel.  Now Mexico city is 7,000plus ft high so its a bit chilly. Rode through some more of there rolling greens hills for 4hrs probably. Last 2 hrs of riding was flat. I arrived in a town called Minatitlan. I was going to stay on the beach but this was right off the freeway make it easy to get where I want to go tomorrow. So I get to town which is super small and looks a bit rough. Check in

go eat some street meat which I think I got charged gringo prices cause no way 3 tacos an 2 mexican sprites should cost almost 11dollars. I mean there were big but fuck what am I to do just hope they needed that money more than I did. It was awesome I might add so whatever. Get back to my hotel and call it a night.  Day 11 Included another day on the road riding from Mantitlan to Tuxtla Guiterezz it was a easy day just 3hrs on the freeway straight to Tuxtla.  Tuxtla was a small little city without being a real city but totally Americanized all the fast food chains and again Walmart and Sams club. I didn’t do much checked in my hotel around 3 and instantly try to line up the next day activities. I was staying at a Marriott so the tour I wanted to do through them was 247$ I knew that was insane and after coming back a hour later to give my decision she mentioned that was just for a private tour if you want to go with a tour company you should go downtown. As I was going to leave it started to rain so I decided I’ll just grab some food here at the hotel ate the buffet ( which I normally don’t do) surprisingly to me it was Damn delicious. Finished up there went back to my room bird bath my riding pants cause those fuckers were getting a bit sour. So washed them in the bath tub hung them up and grab the keys and headed

downtown. Which was a cool little area everyone was hanging out a band was playing in the center with couples dancing around the outside why others sat and just watched. Kids were walking around selling your typical gum candy and souvenirs. I found the tour company and booked my trip for the following day for 38$ ( clearly a lot better and I’m not going to be by my lonesome). Headed back to the hotel and called it a early night cause I was getting picked up at 350am.  Day 12 came fast woke at 330 am packed my backpack and headed to the lobby where I was to get picked up by the driver.  So he came right on time an off we went we drove and hour to pick up the rest of the people in San Cristobal which looked like an awesome little city wish I would of stayed there.   Drove 4hrs to breakfast ate an then

Agua Azul Waterfalls

Agua Azul Waterfalls

to Agua Azul we go.  I didnt really have anything planned for mexico but to see these waterfalls the resembled the ones i saw last year in Guatemala… WELL these were in the rain forest so with a rain forest comes fucking rain and it so happened to storm the night before so these pretty turquoise pools of water were now intense but fucking brown.  So was super bummed about that.  After those waterfalls we

went to this other one called Cascada de Misol-Ha.  Which was completely refreashing cause you got to walk behind it out so all the mist from the water fell back on you.  After that waterfall we ate lunch during lunch i saw these 3 bikers (as in road bicycle) one with an alaska plate strapped on his bag so I had talk with these guys.. It was 2 guys and one girl they were from canada and flew to alaska to start there trip. He mentioned they been riding for a year now and probably have about another year left.  Totally mind blown im here riding something motorized and these fuckers are self powering themselves.. WAY COOLER than what im doing for sure and this is now is the 2nd time i seen bicyclist that are clearly not mexican trucking through mexico heading south.  Well now that i feel like a pussy we get back on our tour bus and they bicycle to there next stop.  Our next stop is the mayan temples by the Palenque tribe.  Right when we got there it poured down raining so again go figure in the rain forest. It stopped after 20 or so minutes and exploring we went.  When I say we I end up joining up with this kid from Israel cause we were the only 2 who spoke english and had no damn clue what anyone else was saying or what was even being said so we figure we stick to gether cause if they leave us atleast we know one another.  So me and this kid (he was 24) started walking around checking out the temples climbing up an down readin the posts… I been to many mayan temples before and this one probably ranks in there as one of the smallest that i have seen.  Anyways viewed them bought some street meet and we all hopped back on the bus.  I got back to my hotel at 11 at night I think it was and man this fucker was going off.  come to find out the next day was mexico independence day. So tonight called for a FIESTA the hotel had a ban playing a buffet of food 2 bouncy houses with those bastard things jumping around in. It was awesome I went down to the bar and figured I take it in and have myself a cerveza. Had one and headed back to my hotel and pack to leave early in the morning cause I had a 9hr ride to antigua guatemala ahead not including dealing with immigration.
